Major Surface Transportation Plans Announced

Federal District, GS (TST) – The Federation Government has announced a package of spending proposals to construct networks of surface transportation systems throughout the schnauzerlands in the next two years.
Under the plans announced by the deputy Chancellor in the Federal Parliament today, networks of limited access highways, high speed railways, and subways that include dual-use bridges and tunnels will connect all major islands in Kinderliebstadt and Purple Schnauzers with the eastern mainland of Grosseschnauzer and the western mainland of Schnauzer States and Schnauzer Homelands, will be constructed. “These new transportation networks will stretch from Port Rose in the west to Edie City in the east; every significant urban city and town will be connected.” Funding for the new projects will come from national and Federation budget surpluses that have accumulated in the past few years, as well as bond issues to be issued by the five national governments and the Federation government. According to the official parliamentary statement, ”Coupled with the newly-constructed system of international airports, these projects will create exceptional growth in tourism, trade, and other business sectors; and create extensive employment opportunities for schnaizervolk and guest workers alike.” The most notable aspect of the new system are the combined road/rail tunnels and bridges that will connect the six major islands in the northern schnauzerlands with the two mainland area, as well as direct road/rail connections for the eastern and western mainlands. “These new tunnels and bridges will supplement, but not replace traditional ferries,” according to the statement.
Parliamentary review is expected to be pro forma, since the Federation government plan has been in development for at least a year, and had included substantial input and participation at the township, national and Federation levels.
